Background Data for: "UAV Icing: Numerical Simulations of Electrothermal Wing De-icing with Shedding Prediction"

DOI

This dataset contains the summarized simulation results used in the paper "UAV Icing: Numerical Simulations of Electrothermal Wing De-icing with Shedding Prediction". The aim of the paper is to numerically predict ice shedding from a wing with an electrothermal de-icing system. Based on experimental results, shedding is modeled when 76% of the interface ice-structure have melted. Using this threshold and comparing different de-icing heat fluxes, the datasets contains the required heating time and energy for the ice protection system. A Python code was used to process the raw simulation data. The code can be found under https://git.ntnu.no/joachw/Numerical_deicing_public.
