Recently we have investigated three new ternary intermetallic compounds PrTSi3 (T = Ir, Rh and Ru) which form in BaNiSn3-type tetragonal structure. The susceptibility exhibits well pronounced anomaly in all these compounds. While in PrIrSi3 transition occurs at 12.2K, in PrRuSi3 it occurs near 8.5K. The specific heat data also confirm these transitions. On the other hand PrRhSi3 exhibits two magnetic transitions at 6.6K and 14.2K in the susceptibility, but no clear anomaly in the heat capacity. Since our inelastic neutron scattering study on PrRuSi3 reveals a singlet crystal field ground state, which indicates magnetic ordering in this compound is due to an induced moment type. It would be of interest to confirm a long range magnetic ordering in these compounds using muSR technique, which is ideal to probe weak magnetism. We therefore propose to carry out musr study on these compounds.
