Cation environments in lead-free glasses

DOI

BaO+ZnO containing glasses are being studied as an alternative to lead-based glasses because they exhibit excellent dielectric, thermal, optical and crystallisation properties. This study proposes to investigate the changes in the Ba and Zn environments with composition in the barium zinc silicate glass system. By better understanding the structure of these glasses, a fuller understanding of the relationship between structure and physical properties can be obtained.
