Micro-CT scans of archaeological dental calculus from Arnhem, NL (AD1350-1829).

DOI

This is a collection of micro-CT scans of archaeological dental calculus deposits from individuals of Leiden University's osteology collection, specifically individuals excavated at Arnhem (Eusebiuskerk and Jansbeek) dated ca. AD1350-1829. The scans are organised by the individual's find numbers (V-1318, -1752, -2451). This data was collected for a MSc thesis project, by researchers from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology. The aim of the project was to investigate visibility of plant remains in micro-CT scans of dental calculus. It was concluded that this is not a suitable method for identifying plant remains for dietary reconstruction, but nonetheless the scans can be useful for future research.
