Chemical water properties measured in surface water samples during R/V SONNE cruise SO296/1 over the shelf of eastern Pacific

During the cruise SO296-1 on board of the German RV SONNE, we collected water samples from the ship pumping system, roughly every 30 NM (resulting in 150 water samples each) distributed along the shelf of the eastern Pacific between Port Hueneme (USA) and Talcahuano (Chile). We measured suspended particulate material (SPM), nutrients as Nitrate, Nitrite, Phosphate and Silicate as well as concentrations of particulate organic carbon (POC) and particulate organic nitrogen (PON) were determined.
