Marine macroalgal-microbial communities Metagenome

Marine eukaryotes live in constant interaction with microorganisms that colonise their surfaces. The mechanisms that can drive the selection of those microbial communities are poorly understood. Metagenomes of microbial communities associated to the surfaces of different macroalgal and seagrass species, rocks and those present in the surrounding seawater were sequenced in order to compare their taxonomic composition and functionality using statistical analyses.
