Okinawa Island-wide coral bleaching survey in February 2026

DOI

Point-intercept benthic survey data were collected in February 2026 at seven reef sites around Okinawa Island: Chinazaki, KGV, Uppama Beach, Oura Bay, Ginowan, Bise, and Apogama. Surveys were conducted in shallow and deeper reef zones using five 20 m transects per depth zone. Benthic observations were recorded at 0.25 m intervals, resulting in 80 observation points per transect.
