FID GEO

The Specialised Information Service for Geosciences („Fachinformationsdienst Geowissenschaften“ FID GEO) is one of currently 39 specialised information services (as of May 2020) supported by the programme „Specialised Information Services“ of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation). This programme is a nationwide system in Germany to support the information infrastructure of universities and research facilities by means of trans-regional services. In order to live up to the requirements of the different discipline-specific interests, these Specialised Information Services are run by a number of high-capacity libraries and research facilities that are of particular significance in the subjects or regional focus fields they oversee. FID GEO is realised by the Göttingen State and University Library in Lower Saxony (SUB Göttingen) in collaboration with the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam.
