Bulk solid phase aluminum, calcium, iron and manganese concentrations from the Northeast Atlantic (MSM96)

DOI

Samples were collected during cruise MSM96 in 2020 to assess heterogeneity of deep-sea sediments in the Northeast Atlantic. Samples were freeze-dried. Bulk solid phase Al, Ca, Fe, and Mn concentrations were determined by ICP-OES following digestion in nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and perchloric acid. CaCO3 was calculated by multiplying the Ca concentration by the factor arising from the ratio of the molar mass of CaCO3 and Ca (2.5).
