The datasets were generated from digital images of cirrhosis patients collected from Royal Free Hospital as
part of an on-going biomarker study approved by the institutional review board (London – Harrow; REC Ref: 08/H0714/8) and all patients provided informed consent.
Digital images of the sclera, the lower eyelid and the forehead of cirrhosis patients were processed using techniques discussed in the accompanying paper (PLOS Digital Health) and recorded as predicted bilirubin in these datasets.
The datasets include predicted bilirubin estimated by digital images captured by two smartphones (Samsung S8 and Nexus), with different types of calibration, and at 3 different sites (sclera, lower eyelid and forehead).
With the datasets, users can generate the Bland-Altman plots described in the paper themselves.
