C60 represents the prototypical case study for a highly geometric nanoscopic entity that exhibits exotic dynamical and thermodynamic transitions. Yet little in general is known about the sensitivity of local potentials/momentum distributions to such transitions. As such we propose a set of deep inelastic neutron measurements aiming to act as a testbed of understanding in this area, which may be extended to the class of highly "in vogue" fullerene derivatives which show great technological promise in the organic photovoltaics, and have been shown to allow tunability through disorder.
