Transcriptomic changes in Avicennia marina in response to salt and drought stress

60 days old Avicennia marina plants were subjected to 500mM salt and 15% PEG induced drought stress for 72h. RNA was isolated from leaf and root tissues.cDNA libraries were constructed and sequenced using Illumina NextSeq 500 Platform to generate 75 bp PE reads.Quality of reads were assessed and de novo transcriptome assembly was performed using Trinityrnaseq. The reads were annotated and statistical analysis including count normalization and differential expression was performed with edgeR. Simple sequence repeats (SSRs)were identified in each transcript sequence.Differentially expressed genes under stress conditions were analyzed further.
