The data set contains two Shape files with its associated data: one corresponding to the 5 km2 area created around the current location of the Sima del Elefante site (Sierra de Atapuerca, Burgos, Spain), and the other corresponding to the Occupied Distribution Areas (ODA) of the amphibians and reptiles species present in the late Early Pleistocene of Sima del Elefante TE7. The ODA has been calculated by removing areas exceeding maximum altitudinal limit for all species in the assemblage (i.e., 2100 m). Both Shape files are projected in WGS 84 geographic reference coordinate system. The climatic and palaeoclimatic parameters presented in the associated publication have been calculated from these files.
