Carbon stable isotopes of coral cores from the Tropical South Atlantic

DOI

The coral stable carbon isotope data (δ13Ccoral) presented here derived from corals of the western tropical South Atlantic. The data was obtained from subfossil and modern corals from Maracajaú, Açu and Rocas Atoll reefs, dated from 1647 to 1692, and from 1928 to 2018. The data was also utilized to generate a composite δ13Ccoral for the region, which is a significant addition to the existing body of knowledge. This data can be employed in future studies that seek to obtain isotopic records of coral from the South Atlantic. The isotopic data was derived from coral powder collected at a sampling resolution of 0.4 and 0.5 mm.
