These images were acquired during expedition PS143/2 with the German ice breaker FS POLARSTERN in July 2024 supporting the time-series studies at the LTER (Long-Term Ecological Research) observatory HAUSGARTEN, situated in the Fram Strait between Greenland and Svalbard, in order to document natural and Global Change induced environmental variations on the polar deep-water ecosystems. The images and videos were acquired by AWIs OFOBS. Mission goal: Investigation of benthic habitats in the Fram Strait with a target altitude of 1.5 m. Mission was planned to follow the regular time-series transects at SV-IV. Mission comments: The laser markers are spaced 50 cm apart. Posidonia positioning system did not work, therefore the ships position is used as an approximation.
