Celluslose content form trees of the glacier forefields and peat bog sites located in the Swiss and Tyrol Alps

DOI

The cellulose content (CC %) was measured in each sample and calculated from the weight of dry wood and the α-cellulose weight obtained after the cellulose extraction (Ziehmer et al. 2018; doi:10.5194/bg-15-1047-2018).CC(%)=(α-cellulose weight / dry wood weight)×100%The preparation method of alpha-cellulose extraction was based on a modification of the Jayme-Wise method (Loader et al. (1997; doi:10.1016/S0009-2541(96)00133-7) and Boettger et al. (2007; doi:10.1021/ac0700023)).
