In this experiment we will study operando the edges of the all the elements within LiNiO2 high-capacity cathode material for Li-ion batteries: O L-, Li K- and Ni M2,3-edges. To be able to access the Li K-edge XRS operando, we will use DRIX electrochemical cells with a higher signal purity. To further explore the potential wealth of information that could be extracted from the Li K-edge on battery materials, the solvation environments of Li polymer electrolytes, where Li is present in different coordination environments will be investigated ex-situ.
