This dataset presents a sea surface temperature (SST) record based on the alkenone UK'37 index from IODP Site 383-U1543 and PS97/114-2 in the Southeast Pacific. The SST record covers the last 8 Mrys (average resolution 25 ka) and dates back to the late Miocene. The sediment samples were collected from drill cores recovered during IODP 383 expedition "Dynamics of Pacific Antarctic Circumpolar Current (DYNAPACC)" with R/V JOIDES Resolution in 2019 (54°35.06ʹS, 76°40.59ʹW; 3,860 m water depth; Lamy et al., 2021; doi:10.14379/iodp.proc.383.2021). The SST younger than 0.45 Ma were reconstructed from sediment samples recovered during RV Polarstern Cruise PS97 (ANT-XXXI/3) from piston core114-2 ((54°34.73'S, 76°38.82'W; 3,869 m water depth; Lamy et al., 2016; doi:10.2312/BzPM_0701_2016). In addition to the reconstructed SST, the UK'37 and UK'38Me indices are presented in the dataset.
