Investigation of the low energy correlated state of SrDy2O4

We propose to measure the diffuse scattering the in the novel quantum magnet SrDy2O7 on D7. Neutron powder scattering and inelastic measurements indicate that the system has 1D order at mK temperatures. In order to confirm this hypothesis we are requesting time on the xyz polarisation diffractometer D7 such that we may separate the diffuse magnetic scattering from the nuclear scattering and the incoherent background.
