The scientific staff of the German Expert Council on Integration and Migration (SVR) used the 2024 reform of citizenship as an opportunity to investigate the attitudes of the German population toward naturalization and the reform initiative. To this end, quantitative data were collected in September 2023 using two combined survey methods: one survey was conducted via an online access panel (CAWI), while the second was conducted based on a telephone survey (CATI).

Sampled Universe: German residents aged 18 and over

Sampling: Stratified random sample (stratified by quotas: age, gender, and federal state) (CAWI). ADM telephone sample (dual frame: 60% landline, 40% mobile) (CATI).
