Experimental dataset of ecological hand and finger movements for the comparison of markerless motion capture systems.

The presented dataset contains measurments (.c3d files) from each of the markerless and marker-based motion capture methods used in the associated publication for each of the experimental tasks performed by each participant in the associated experimental protocol. The two markerless methods used are based on the Leap Motion Controller device and the MediaPipe API developped by Google. Each participant were recorded doing five ecological tasks encompasing various levels of amplitude of movement and occlusions. This dataset was originally used to compare the performances of the two markerless methods to a traditional marker-based motion capture method.
