XRF measurements (30 kV) from IODP Hole 375-U1526B

DOI

The core 375-U1526B was scanned for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) at 30 kV with a Pd filter using a AVAATECH, GEN-4 core scanner. The core was drilled at 2888 m below sea level on the western flank of the Tūranganui Knoll Seamount, along the Hikurangi Subduction Margin, offshore the North Island of New Zealand. The XRF data includes Ca and Rb, measured carbonate content and interpolated carbonate percentages are also included. The XRF data provides insight to the sediment provenance of the core. The core was scanned at 1 cm intervals where core was available and in good condition, in total 2240 measurements was conducted at each source energy in total 2240 measurements was conducted over 0.01-26.10 (CSF-A).
