Abstract: Giulia is a girl with Down syndrome with a passion for crime stories. When her cousin Pietro gets involved in an armed robbery and disappears, she investigates with her group of friends to find him and prove his innocence. They face gangsters and escape dangerous situations, overcoming their fears and showing their loyalty to one another. Eventually, they manage to find the criminals, free Pietro, and go back to hang out happily all together.

Details: The movie opens showing a car chase in the streets of Rome between two police officers and two criminals, who eventually manage to escape. One of them has his face covered, and the other is Pietro, one of the story’s protagonists. The following scene flashes back to the previous week in order to tell the events that led Pietro to the crime scene. He is a young man who hangs out with his cousin, Giulia Santeramo, and their group of friends at their regular bar, “San Salvador.” Giulia is a girl with Down syndrome who works at the lost and found in Rome’s main train station and has a passion for crime stories. The other components of their group are Valeria, a girl dreaming of becoming an influencer; Marco, also called “Panico” because of his constant fears; Sandro and Oreste. One day, after hanging out in San Salvador, Pietro saves Marta, a girl addicted to drugs, when some dealers to whom she owes money approach her. She tries to convince him not to get involved in her chaotic life, but he is already falling in love with her and starts dating her instead. Giulia, who is very close to her cousin Pietro, worries a lot about him and does not like Marta. In the meantime, she fails to give enough attention to Antonio, her boyfriend. In fact, she does not invite him to the upcoming charity party organized in San Salvador. At the party, Pietro gets into a fight with Giulia because he asks her to lend him some money to help Marta, and she refuses and tells him she disapproves of their relationship. After the fight, both are very sad and while Giulia calls Antonio and goes home crying, Pietro goes back into the bar and gets drunk. The next morning, Giulia receives a visit from her uncle, Pietro’s father, who tells her that Pietro disappeared. They both get called at the police station, where they are informed that Pietro was involved in an armed robbery that took place in San Salvador, the crime shown at the opening scene. Giulia is determined to find Pietro and prove his innocence, so she recruits her group of friends to start investigating. The investigation leads them to get involved in dangerous situations. First, they break into Marta’s father’s house, looking for clues, and then they meet up with some gangsters to find out where she is. Finally, they find her in a rehabilitation clinic and ask her for information about where Pietro could be, but by doing so, they put her in danger by making her traceable to some gangsters who want to harm her. From visiting Marta, they only obtain one clue on where to find Pietro: they need to find a man named Ivan. In the meantime, Pietro wakes up at the robber’s house, Ivan, but because of the hangover, he does not remember much about the night before. After a couple of days, he realizes that Ivan is kidnapping him. Giulia and her friends are about to give up on the investigation and leave it to the police, who trace Ivan’s house, save Pietro before nothing bad happens to him, and arrest them both. However, Giulia keeps looking for clues and figures out that actually the owner of the San Salvador, Giovanni Malatesta, was involved in the robbery at his own bar. Instead of informing her friends or the police, Giulia decides to head to San Salvador and face Giovanni all alone, putting herself in danger once again. While Giovanni threatens Giulia, she texts her friends asking for help. They inform the police and head up there, facing their fear in order to save her. Meanwhile, Ivan and Pietro confirm Giulia’s theory at the police station: the robbery was actually a fraud planned by Giovanni and Marta to gain some money. Later, Marta, convinced by Pietro, opted out of the plan and joined a rehabilitation clinic. The police finally arrest Giovanni Malatesta, and the case is solved. The group of friends that Antonio and Marta also join can go back to enjoy some calm and happy moments together.
