This dataset contains high-quality photography and X-ray tomography of four core samples collected in the inner part of the Trunvel valley, a small estuary currently sediment-infilled (North-Western France). The measurements were part of the Paleogeographic changes and coastal archaeological remains in Brittany during the Middle and Late Holocene: Contributions of a multidisciplinary and multi-scaled approach PhD project. The photographs were acquired using a Phase One 645DF camera in a photographic station at IFREMER (French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea, Plouzané, France). For X-ray tomography, a XCT-Geotek system, also available at IFREMER, was used. All images are available in .tiff format. These data were acquired in order to characterize the sedimentary lithofacies.
