Plastisphere microbiome of Biodegradable Plastics on deep-sea floor

This project is focused on the metagenomic assemblies of plastisphere established at the deep seafloor ranging from 800-6000 m. The three different types of biodegradable plastics were submerged polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), biodegradable polyesters, and polysaccharide esters. MAGs of the dominant microbes that might be correlated with oceanic plastic degradation are also extracted from the plastisphere metagenomes.

The 16S rRNA sequencings of the plastisphere microbiome were separately deposited in BioProject PRJDB14280.
