While investigating a certain line of thought in the Yogācāra treatment of the darśanamārga, I had to deal with the exposition of this subject in the Abhidharmasamuccaya (mṄon pa kun btus = AS) ascribed to Asaṅga. In addition to the Indian commentary, viz. the Abhidharmasamuccaya-bhāṣya ascribed to one Jinaputra by the Tibetan tradition, there are several autochtonous Tibetan commentaries on the AS. In the present paper, I shall limit myself to a discussion of Bu ston's commentary on the passage, and to a provisional one at that. The other Tibetan commentaries will be referred to only occasionally.
