TCNQ salts have also seen extensive research within magnetic systems where there have been a large number of metal-organic compounds synthesised that show interesting properties. However the magnetism within many TCNQ salts is not well understood. We intend to study the magnetism within a simple TCNQ salt, Potassium TCNQ in order to gain a better understanding of the magnetic structure of TCNQ salts in general. We propose to study deuterated KTCNQ, using inelastic scattering at high temperatures, room temperature, and also very low temperatures, on MERLIN, to study the dispersion relation of the magnetism and excitations of the sample within the spin-peierls phase shown by this material.
