Shared Decision Making in Integrated Maternity Care

DOI

While integrated maternity care increasingly aims at shared decision-making, it seems that clients with low health literacy do not optimally benefit. Low health literacy is a barrier in communication with health professionals, in obtaining and understanding information on options, and in evaluating the importance of pros and cons. This project aims to systematically develop and evaluate strategies to improve shared decision-making in integrated maternity care. The project consists of needs assessments among clients and professionals, and the development and evaluation of strategies.
