Sargassum-Associated Fungi in a Tropical Reef Habitat

We surveyed the fungi associated with the invasive alga Sargassum from a variety of sites in Singapore. Sargassum rapidly displaces native corals and this study shows the potential for Sargassum as a vector of fungal species that are harmful to corals. All fungi found in the various tissues of Sargassum (Leaf, Hold Fast, Vescicle) are noted as well.
