Physical oceanography at the PerenniAL Acoustic Observatory in the Antarctic Ocean (Boebel et al. 2006). In the 2005/06 Antarctic field season, a Sea-Bird SBE37SM-RS232 conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) recorder was deployed through a hot-water-drill hole approximately 1-3 km from the ice shelf front. The sensor was placed about midway in the water column below the ice shelf, with a cabled connection for data transfer and power supply to the surface. This dataset is an updated version of Kindermann (2011, doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.770298), containing the complete timeseries throughout the entire lifetime of the observatory before it was lost through calving of the ice front.
