Brassicaceae species transcriptome analysis

Utilizing Roche's 454 pyrosequencing technology leaf transcriptomes of a subset of diverse crucifer species were sequenced. Gene repertoires assembled from these transcritome sequences facilitated establishment of a resolved molecular phylogeny of Brassicaceae, and provided a wealth of evolutionary information, including age and relative position of polyploidy as well as lineage separation events experienced by crucifer species.
