During cruise MSM118 (June 20 – July 2, 2023), bathymetric data were collected using the Kongsberg Simrad EM122 and EM712 multibeam echosounders on RV MARIA S. MERIAN. The EM122, a deep-water hull-mounted system, provided continuous coverage of the working area down to full ocean depths. It recorded seafloor bathymetry, water-column imaging, and backscatter, with beamforming corrected for vessel motion and sound velocity variations in the water column. Data were acquired in equidistant mode and stored in raw *.all format using the Kongsberg Seafloor Information System (SIS). EM122 measurements support mapping of deep-water morphology and glacial channel networks.
