Stable isotopes analysis of IODP Hole 361-U1474A

DOI

The dataset shows δ13C and δ18O isotopic measurements performed on planktonic foraminifera for IODP Expedition 361, Hole U1474A. This site is in the southwest Indian Ocean, in the Agulhas region. It is a key location to study past ocean changes in the Indian Ocean because it lies where the warm Agulhas Current meets the cold, nutrient-rich Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). The data from this site help identify different water masses, changes in the thermocline, and long-term shifts in the ACC since the Middle Pleistocene. The data was generated using Thermo Gasbench linked to a Thermo Delta V Advantage IRMS at the Hamilton College Isotope Laboratory, New York, USA.
