Replication Data for: "Leveraging Magnetic Resonance Imaging to Study Biocompatible Scaffolds Diffusion and Perfusion for Lab-on-a-Chip Systems"

MRI images data extracted from a Bruker 3T BioSpec system corresponding to passive diffusion and perfusion studies of biocompatible scaffolds (hydrogels and cryogels). We assessed passive diffusion by imaging using MRI the wet (water) scaffolds inside a recipient containing deuterium oxide (i.e., heavy water), which is invisible in MRI if we observe the normal water frequency. We studied the perfusion properties of the scaffolds using microfluidics, immobilising the scaffolds in wells carved into the chips, and using heavy water as a contrast agent as well.
