The high-pressure structures of carbon dioxide hydrate

DOI

The gas hydrates offer potential as hydrogen and carbon dioxide storage materials for use either in transport applications or for carbon sequestration. We have discovered a number of new hydrate structures which are more efficient at storing gas than the known low pressure clathrate hydrates. This proposal is to solve the structure of the higher pressure phase and to explore its behaviour to 10 GPa
