Genomic history of the seventh pandemic of cholera in Africa

We elucidated the routes by which the cholera agent was introduced into Africa and reconstructed the spatiotemporal spread of cholera across the continent during the seventh pandemic, by analyzing the genomes of 1,070 V. cholerae El Tor isolates, including 742 newly sequenced isolate.
