Tursiops truncatus RAD sequencing for study of adaptation to harmful algal blooms

We used restriction site-associated DNA (RAD) sequencing to investigate a genetic basis for resistance of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) to harmful algal blooms in the Gulf of Mexico. We sequenced pools of genomic DNA from dolphins representing both coastal and estuarine dolphin populations in Florida and multiple dolphin mortality events associated with exposure to harmful algal blooms.
