Sedimentary census counts at IODP Site 383-U1542 during Marine Isotope Stage 12-10

DOI

This dataset presents sedimentary census counts at International Ocean Discovery Program Site U1542 (52°42.292ʹS, 75°35.769ʹW; 1,101 m water depth) during Marine Isotope Stage 12-10 and includes the abundance of the planktic foraminifera Neoglobaquadrina pachyderma and the presence of siliciclastic grains. The abundance of N. pachyderma was calculated relative to the total number of planktic foraminifera in the sample and converted to summer sea surface temperature based on the calibration of Govin et al. (2009; doi:10.1029/2008PA001603). The abundance of IRD was determined relative to the sum of foraminiferal specimens and siliciclastic grains in the sample in percent. A total of 4 replicate counts of the same sample aliquot were completed to determine uncertainties of the census counts.
