The data has been obtained using the digital aerial photogrammetry methodology adapted to drones. Different areas of Livingston Island were flown with a fixed wing RPAS. The aerial images were then processed, along with the UAS flight data, and an orthomosaic was generated. From this, the point cloud was generated by means of already adjusted and georeferenced image correlation methods.
This research has focused on adapting the operating flight with drones to a climate as extreme as Antarctica, and obtaining 3D Digital Models of the Surface of the glaciers under study. This have been done starting from the conventional flight operations, the climate variables that determine its implementation are studied and, therefore, they have to be modified to achieve precise MDS of the glaciers. The results obtained have been: * Modified operational flight description resulting from the case study experience. The validation of the precision of the generated MDS. The Web publication of results.
