Evolution of parthenogenesis in Panagrolaimus nematodes

Parthenogenesis is very rare in animals and model organisms to study the trait in the laboratory not at hand. Here we describe the evolutionary origin of parthenogenesis in Panagrolaimus nematodes. We also study the genomes and transcriptomes of several species, which will aid researches to use theses organisms as a laboratory model to study the evolution of parthenogenesis.
