Data of leaf litter decomposition, quality and fungal community of the task 1.1 of the project Rivstress (PID2020-115708RB-C21). The data was collected in an experiment conducted in three Catalan rivers: Arbúcies, Llémena and Riera Major. Leaf litter bags were placed into the rivers to study leaf litter decomposition and its associated fungal community. The bags were exposed to two intensities of drying (pulse: short and intermittent; press: prolonged drying) and, finally, to the effluent of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), to study the impact of both stressors on leaf litter and fungal parameters. See Pinilla-Rosa et al. (in press) for more detailed information. The data format allows to recreate every result presented in Pinilla-Rosa et al. (in press). The firsts four sheets of the excel present the data of leaf litter mass loss (decomposition), fungal biomass, C:N ratio and fungal richness of leaves, respectively, used to conduct Generalized Lineal Models (GLMs). The rest of the sheets present the OTUs matrices used to conduct different community analyses (Coverage, NMDS, PERMANOVA, beta diversity and SIMPER) for each river. Mass loss is expressed as the percentage of leaf biomass lost. Fungal biomass is expressed in milligrams (mg) of fungi per gram (g) of leaves.
