Identification of genes differentially regulated by presence of protocatechuic acid

This study used transcriptomic analysis to identify Aspergillus niger genes potentially involved in the catabolism for protocatechuic acid. Genes upregulated in culture conditions with protocatechuic acid as the sole carbon source became candidates for further analysis to identify the genes involved in this pathway.
