484 genome skims from the Norwegian arctic vascular flora

Large genomic databases are critical tools for increasing our understanding of species evolution, biodiversity patterns, and response to environmental changes. It is essential that such databases are of high quality, as it will affect all downstream analyses. Here we present a genome skim database of 1969 specimens taken from the herbarium TROM. These represent 1822 Norwegian and polar plant taxa belonging to 558 genera and 111 families. The nomenclature and taxonomic species understanding is coherent, as the revision of herbarium is done by the same persons that lead the Pan Arctic Flora project and the Norwegian flora. Here we provide assembled and annotated nuclear ribosomal DNA (1666 fully assembled) and chloroplast DNA (1106 fully assembled). The data represent >80% cover at species level and 95% cover at genus level for the majority of arctic floristic region.
