(Supplementary table S1) 133 flares detected wiht a single beam echosounder during POLARSTERN cruise ANT-XXIX/4 in March and April 2013

DOI

133 flares were detected using the ship-mounted parametric single beam echosounder during R/V Polarstern cruise ANT-XXIX/4 in March and April 2013. Gas emission sites were found to originate at water depths between 130 and 390 meters below sea level (mbsl) on the northern shelf of South Georgia within cross-shelf troughs 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Flare heights in the echograms were between 10 and 220 m with an average of ~70 m.
