The uppermost sample could not be calibrated to a calendar age owing to the influence of bomb-derived radiocarbon. Therefore, we set the core top to zero age. The radiocarbon ages of the three lowermost samples exceed the calibration range. Therefore, these dates have been converted to calendar ages using Bard's glacial polynomial (Bard, 1998, doi:10.1016/S0016-7037(98)00130-6).
