Magnaporthe oryzae is an agriculturally important model fungus that causes crop losses worldwide. Deciphering the high-quality genome provides a critical strategy to overcome the challenges of M. oryzae. However, the current MG8 assembly of the widely used reference genome of M. oryzae strain 70-15 harbors many gaps and missing repeat segments. Here, we report a complete 44.82 Mb high-quality reference genome and a 35.95 kb circular mitochondrial genome of M. oryzae strain 70-15 based on deep-coverage PacBio long-read HiFi sequencing and Hi-C data.
