MCALentory: the Media Content Analysis Lab inventory

DOI

The MCALentory consists of a searchable inventory of almost 200 publications on media content analysis published in various communication science journals since 2001. At the moment the inventory covers all studies which (partially) focus on the Netherlands and have been published in the 30 highly ranked communication journals. This inventory serves multiple purposes. First, it can be used as a source of inspiration for designing future content analytical studies, for example in terms operationalization of key concepts. Second, the archive can be used for replication studies and meta analyses. Third, data can potentially be used as training data for machine learning algorithms. The dataset is also published as a knowledge graph and can be browsed at https://kg.odissei.nl/odissei/mcal .

The Media Content Analysis Lab (MCAL) is develped within the ODISSEI Roadmap project funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) under grant number 184.035.014.

The dataset is also published as a knowledge graph on the Triply website. The MCALentory knowledge graph can be browsed online at https://kg.odissei.nl/odissei/mcal
