We intend to directly measure the lowest energetic manifold in a Co2Y2 nanomagnet using variable temperature INS measurements below ~30 K in zero-field (eliminating complications arising from Zeeman splitting). This will allow us to directly observe the splitting caused by the anisotropic exchange interaction between the Co(II) ions. Such information will be complimentary to the data already collected and will enable a far more complete picture of the electronics than is typically achievable for cobalt systems.
