Respondent G1G1 zat tijdens de oorlog op verschillende plekken ondergedoken. Verschillende van haar familieleden zijn in een concentratiekamp vermoord. Haar gezin (man en kinderen) gaven haar weer iets om voor te leven. Met hen heeft ze nooit over de verschrikkingen van de oorlog gesproken. Uiteindelijk is ze op advies van een van haar kinderen toch in therapie gegaan. Ze spreekt nu ook op scholen over de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Haar weerbaarheid heeft volgens haar met haar sterke karakter te maken.
