Cold adaptation and horizontal gene transfer in Antarctic sponge and seawater microbiomes

Metagenome sequencing for the exploration of the functional differences in the microbiomes of Antarctic sponges against those of (i) tropical and temperate sponges and (ii) their surrounding seawater, primarily focused on functions related to cold adaptation and the contribution of horizontal gene transfer in acquiring them.

This study contributes to understanding the functional signatures and evolutionary mechanisms that underlie adaptation in the Antarctic sponge microbiome
